XML Site Map vs HTML Site Map

Which one is better? Here is what the most famous Google engineer, Matt Cutts, talking about importance of sitemaps for indexing and ranking.
So the answer is BOTH.

Hi
1) under pages in the dashboard i have a page for ‘sitemap” set up but it does not show on my website, is set up to publish not draft so
a) how do i get it to show up on my website
b) i have just under 300 published sites but the list on this page only shows about 30 of the posts
2) under settings there is sitemap page and xml-sitemap – i don’t know what i’m supposed to do with these pages or the settings that i am supposed to select – is there any information that can help me with this.

Debbie usually the page appears on the menu bar. Most theme require you add it to the menu. Each theme is different on how to go this so it is hard to give an exact answer. Also you do not need to do anything to the plugins mentioned just leave them as is.
