Installing CPMage

There have been many questions concerning Installing CPMage to the server. Greg and his team has been gracious in that they will do your first upload at no charge to you. But when you need to do it yourself what is the process?
I have created this video to help you understand the steps to go through to load CPMage onto your server. If there are any questions on the process send me a email or PM through the forum and I will try to resolve the issue.
The process in this video is one way to accomplish the task. There are other ways and I may develop another video to show it. Check back later.
Note: Also I thought of a idea after the video was finished and wanted to tell you about it prior to you watching the video.
Prior to uploading the two files (public_html and wpmage) to the server rename your public_html file to something like public_htmlbkup. That way you have the original public_html file just in case something goes wrong and you need the original file.
Also the video was developed when CPMage 1.5.5 was the latest. For the purpose of this video the version number is not relevant and the video assumes this is a original install. If you are upgrading you can skip all the data base creation in the video.
There is a link to the -7zip program in the Downloads area on the right sidebar of the site.

Hi Mike,
I was a bit wary at attempting this myself, but I followed your video instructions exactly as you did it, and hey presto, it worked.
I have now got a new server with CPmage loaded on it and building sites.
So I would just like to thank you for your help and support.
Your site is the best.
regards Alex
You are welcom Alex anytime
Hello Mike,
Thanks again for this video.
For sacrificial domain that we install CPMage, is it ok to install on the addon domain? The reason I ask, the main domain or account has public_html while addon domain doesn’t have and CPMage Installer has public_html & wpmage.tar.gz.
I do not totally understand your question PM me about it
Hi Mike,
Your video is a big help but I still did something wrong. When I clicked on my desktop on the FTP side cpmage file came up and I double clicked on it and the entire file downloaded and I was Disconnected from my server of course. How do I get these files off Filezilla. I tried unistalling filezilla but that has not worked. I corrected the problem with uploading wrong folder, but cannot get these files out to connect to server. My server cool handle is suppose to have mage already installed so am I suppose to install this way.Any help you can give me would be really really helpful.
Thanks hopefully
Aver
Aver what happened when you double clicked the file the files downloaded to your computer in the file that filezilla had opened. You will need to delete them from your computer. If you see them on the left side when you open filezilla just right clicke them and then delete them.
Mike you are a lifesaver! I’ve been struggling with trying to install cpmage for 3 days and the mage support sent me to this site. Greg could take a few lessons from you about creating videos for his users. Thank you so much.
Paula Thanks for stopping by and Glad I could help. If you have any questions you can always PM me. My door is always open
Hi Mike,
That was a very clear an instructive video, and is much appreciated, the only problem I have is that when I extract the cpmage-full zip I get two folders public_html, which is the same as the video, and a winRAR archive file which is labeled wpmge.tar, but is not actually a tar file as far as I can tell.
Should I just upload the winRAR file as is, unzip it, or should this actually be a tar file as shown in your video.
Regards
Roger
Should be WPMage.tar.gz file. Make sure you downloaded the CPMage-Full zip file and not the CPMage-Full tar file.
I tried to download the files and everything seemed to go ok but when I went to the first step to start creating sites I got an error mesage saying CPmage requires MySqli PHP extention AND CPmage cannot be installed if open_basedir is enabled in PHP.
As anyone come across these error messages and if so how did you get them fixed.
Thanks.
Tony C.

Brigit
Good deal Brigit start the building process and have fun
Thanks Mike,
There seemed to be a couple of details missing from the Mage training videos, but thanks to your video it filled in the blanks .
Kind Regards,Greg
Mike
a huge thank you for creating such an easy to follow video – really saved me! Could you tell me – do we have to do this for each site we create or only the first domain being ‘sacrificed’?
Secondly – have you done a video on how to join ebay – I believe it is quite difficult?
Thanks again
Christine
CPMage needs only on the sacrificed domain.
Mike – you are a STAR – I had real problems going through the CPMage install video from the Mage creator Greg, and even the help desk could solve my problem.
I just went through this vid of yours and it makes far more sense – and YES after 8 days I now have CP Mage installed !
Anybody checking this out – Mike makes far more sense in this video than the seller of the Mage programme – so use it as reference and don’t waste time on the Mage site PFD or video!
Thanks again Mike,
Lizzy
Thanks Lizzy….I appreciate your comments and for stopping by. I try to keep it as easy as I can so everyone can understand the process. If there are any questions on anything please be sure to ask. That goes for anything or anybody.
Mike
