Create A Index File For Your Root Domain

You may have seen the thread on the forum concerning creating a bland index file for your root (sacrificial) domain. Why is this important? Well let's step back for a moment.
When you purchased your root domain through your hosting service or other registrars (like godaddy, namecheap, etc.) and they were installed on to your account one of two things happened. Either the hosting service put a index file in the root directory or they did not. If they did it usually is promo page for their service.
Why do you need this file you ask? Well if there is no index file there and someone types in your domain name in a browser they will see your entire domain structure . This would give SPAMMERS all the info they need to attack your sites. It is a simple process to protect againest this by creating a index file your self and protecting your sites.
If you are creating sites using CPMage than the sites you build have the proper files in them. No need to worry about them.
I have developed a short video explaining the process of creating the index file. Just click on the play button to view the video. I hope it clears up any questions you may have concerning this matter. Please let me know if the video was helpful to you by posting a comment of sending me a PM in the forum. I hope you have a wonderful day.

Glad I could help you out. Please stop by often
Thank you for the index info. In your experience, what is the indexmage doing? I put the domain in and click on all links. Many of those pages say the site is not found. This is understandable since the site is not indexed. So, what are these links I am clicking on in indexmage doing then? Curious, Steve.
They are adding your site to their index of sites
OMG. I cannot thank you enough for your videos. I am an aging baby boomer trying hard to learn this stuff. I kept seeing you in the forums answering questions and so I decided to visit you.
